You’ll start by completing a detailed intake packet that will be reviewed by a physician and then discussed in a one-on-one 20-minute goal setting session. Then, eight physician-led small-group sessions will focus on problem-solving skills, stress management and other useful tools to help you develop a healthier relationship with food and your body.

To help our patients who are trying to conceive but struggling with weight, we offer a unique weight-loss program called WIFI (Wellness Interdisciplinary Fertility Initiative). This is a joint venture between University of Colorado Advanced Reproductive Medicine (ARM) and the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center. You begin with a fertility evaluation and a physician-led weight management and wellness assessment, and then the journey begins with a personalized plan. Co-directors Dr. Alex Polotsky and Dr. Holly Wyatt work with you to select one of two program options: rapid weight loss plan using meal replacements or behavioral lifestyle intervention.
To increase your chances of getting pregnant, we can help you select one of the following two weight loss fertility pathways. We invite your partner or spouse to join you on your journey.
- Rapid Weight Loss Using Meal Replacements: 10 hours of medically supervised structured weight loss designed to produce 2-4 pounds of weight loss per week. Includes one hour with a behavior change specialist.
- Behavioral Lifestyle Intervention: 10 hours of customized calorie prescription for 1-2 pounds of weight loss per week. Includes one hour with a behavior change specialist.
