What is your role here at the CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center?
“I am a Group Fitness Instructor! — I teach Yoga, CXWORX, and BODYPUMP. Look for me on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning!”
How long have you worked here?
“Just over a year! My first class was Sunrise Yoga on Jan 3, 2018. 💪”
What do you enjoy most about working at the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center?
“The Health and Wellness Center is TRULY exceptional. I cannot think of anywhere else that opens up so many different gates to wellness–The resources are insane: massage therapy, private training, Parkinson’s Exercise classes, on-site nutrition/culinary courses, State of Slim, a bod pod, OVER 90 GROUP FITNESS CLASSES EVERY WEEK. 😱😆 No matter where you’re coming from, AHWC can open a path for you. It’s amazing to be part of a team that wants to make wellness accessible to everyone. I live for that.”
What motivates you?
“FUN. Enjoyment is critical to sticking with a new routine. Find a class you love, a trainer who makes you laugh, or a workout friend you like to hang out with — you start to walk out of the gym with more energy than when you came in. It’s really amazing. 😅”
Name some of your hobbies!
“Every weekend my family and I go to La Cueva Restaurante on Colfax & Dayton. I order the No. 3 Combination Plate w/ green chile and eat an entire basket of chips. I have done this for 26 years. Highly recommend. I also like to ski fast, bake cookies, pet my dogs, and memorize Nicki Minaj lyrics. 😬👍”
What is one of your bucket list items?
“I really want to climb Kit Carson peak. I intend to knock it out this summer. It’s got this big dome top and the coolest name ever: Kit Carson. I could say “Kit Carson” all day, I love it!”
