On Thursday, April 25th, The CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center participated in the National Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work Day by encouraging our staff to bring their children during the workday. It was a day filled with programs that encouraged learning around our core pillars of nutrition, physical activity, and mental wellbeing.
The day’s agenda was as follows:
9:00 – 9:30 am Pot Your Own Plant on the Green Roof hosted by Registered Dietitian Lisa Wingrove and with help from Cristina Rebellon and Kim Dunn.
10:00 – 10:15 am Warrior Canine Connection presentation, presented by Elizabeth Kealey
11:15 – 11:45 am Yoga for Youth on the Green Roof hosted by Karen Erstad
Noon – 1:00 pm Smoothies and Snacks in the Demo Kitchen hosted by Dee Iraca and Lisa Wingrove
2:00 – 2:30 pm Hands-on Science Demonstration with Cristina Rebellon
We had 13 children ranging in ages 6 to 13 who participated in the day.
Thank you to all of the organizers, presenters, parents, and children who participated in Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work day in 2019!
