Staff Highlight: Dr. Adam Gilden

Dr. Adam Gilden

We are excited to welcome Dr. Adam Gilden as the new Associate Director of the CU Medicine Weight Management and Wellness Clinic!

Dr. Gilden enjoys working with people at all stages of weight loss– from those who need guidance in making small changes, to patients considering surgical options. Acknowledging that long-term control of weight can be a challenge, he strives to both empower and educate his patients, listening to and supporting them through their struggles with weight loss and helping them to understand and apply the science of body weight regulation. Dr. Gilden is also enthusiastic about collaborating with his patients’ wider health care team, as weight loss can be a critical piece in managing and recovering from many other health issues.

Dr. Gilden has practiced obesity medicine for 18 years. In addition to his work with patients, he is active in training other weight management clinicians and educating physicians of diverse specialties about weight management and obesity. He has served as a speaker for the board review course of The Obesity Society for 8 years and as course director from 2017-2021. He has also given continuing education lectures on weight management across the country for primary care physicians.

Before joining the CU Medicine Weight Management and Wellness Clinic, Dr. Gilden served as an internist and obesity medicine specialist at Kaiser for the last 9 years. And prior to his time at Kaiser, Dr. Gilden was an obesity medicine specialist here at CU Anschutz!

The Anschutz Health and Wellness Center is dedicated to fostering excellence across all areas to support you in your health and wellness goals. Give us a call to learn more about Dr. Gilden and our other weight management programming.
