Meet CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center’s newest intern, Brooke Anders! Learn more about what drives her and her future plans after her internship.
What is your role as a CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center intern?
“As an intern, I am here to help Center staff, clients, and members. I am helping coach F.I.T. groups and group exercise classes for now, and will soon be taking over a few by myself.”
Why do you want to become a fitness trainer?
“Training teaches me a lot about not only the human body but also about humans themselves. Getting to know and help people is one of the most fulfilling things that I can think of. I love seeing how exercise can prevent and treat all sorts of diseases and conditions.”
What are your professional plans once your internship is done?
“After my internship is done, I plan to finish my bachelor’s degree and then go to medical school. I plan on becoming a doctor and continuing to help people.”
What are some of your hobbies?
“Softball is a huge hobby of mine. I grew up playing it and now I help coach the next generation of softball players. I also love to camp and hike. The outdoors are so refreshing!”
Do you have a favorite piece of equipment to use at the Center?
“My favorite piece of equipment at the center has to be the TechnoGym Skill Mill. It is so versatile you can work just about anything with it.”
