Interval water aerobics offers the benefits of anaerobic and aerobic intervals for a fat-burning total body workout in a non-impact setting.

This class utilizes the ballet barre, combining a progression of movements to work the entire body while developing greater physical awareness and posture. Intense yet low impact, this class will stabilize your core while working major muscle groups as well as the smaller muscles in the thighs and seat. A final stretch encourages muscle length and balance.

Step into a BODYCOMBAT workout and you’ll punch and kick your way to fitness, burning up to 740 calories* along the way. This high-energy martial-arts inspired workout is totally non-contact and there are no complex moves to master. Your instructor will challenge you to up the intensity and motivate you to make the most of every round. You’ll release stress, have a blast and feel like a champ.

Ideal for anyone and everyone, BODYBALANCE (formerly BODYFLOW™) is the yoga-based class that will improve your mind, your body and your life. An inspired soundtrack plays as you bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves and embrace elements of Tai Chi and Pilates. Simple, athletic movements performed in short, explosive intervals for an efficient, effective cardio workout.  Timed anaerobic work (based on your heart rate monitor or rate of perceived exertion) is followed by aerobic recovery to stimulate improved cardiovascular performance, while burning fat and calories.  One of the benefits of HIIT is that the calories keep burning even after you’ve completed the workout!

Class Guidelines and Etiquette

  • Classes are open to all levels and modifications are provided to accommodate advanced or beginner participants, with the exception of Power Flow and Next Level Flow Yoga – for which we recommend you have some prior experience in yoga. If you are beginning or just returning to a fitness program, we would recommend referring to our Smart Start schedule for classes that are best for new exercisers.
  • Please speak with your physician prior to starting a group exercise class if you have sustained an injury, an illness or you are pregnant.
  • Loose, comfortable fitness clothing is acceptable. Fitness shoes are required for most classes. Exceptions are mind/body classes which are typically performed barefoot.
  • Participation in most GEX classes is on a first arrival basis. Members may not “save a space” for others.
  • An online reservation is required for participation in Barre Conditioning, BODYPUMP™, cycling, Tread & Shred, and Pound®. If you find you are not able to utilize your reservation, please cancel it online so that another participant can utilize that spot.
  • If you reserved a space in BODYPUMP, please be sure to pick up your BODYPUMP ticket at the Front Desk upon your arrival.
  • We schedule five minutes in between classes to allow every class to begin on time. Please arrive five minutes early for equipment-based classes (i.e. BODYPUMP, Boot Camp, Total Strength) to allow for set-up and/or if you are new to the class and have questions for the instructor. Please let your instructor know if you have issues or injuries that may require modification of exercises.
  • Late arrivals are permitted up to 10 minutes except for classes requiring reservation, where late arrivals may result in loss of your spot. If you cannot join class on time, your spot will be released to the next member on the waiting list. Please be on time.
  • The pool is not open for free-swim during aqua classes; only those participating in the aqua class are permitted in the pool during scheduled classes. Please be courteous by keeping conversations low in the hot tub during aqua classes.
