Fitness While Expecting
Join Rebekah Griffith, UCHealth Physical Therapist Specialist and Karen Percival, Fitness Programs Manager at the CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center to learn safe and appropriate exercise as well as how to address the many common pain complaints that occurs routinely throughout pregnancy. Engage in a fitness session that includes strength and flexibility exercises designed for expecting mothers. Participants will feel comfortable and safe while working out, regardless of their trimester. Learn the most essential muscles to engage during your pregnancy. Take home some great exercises for balance strength and flexibility that you can do anywhere!
Mindfulness While Expecting The Mindfulness While Expecting portion is led by licensed psychologist Meredith Shefferman, Ph.D. from the University of Colorado Hospital Center for Integrative Medicine who will teach you mindfulness and relaxation practices to use while expecting. Mindfulness meditation involves fully focusing one’s awareness on the present moment. It helps the mind to move away from the rushed, worrying state, and come into a calmer, more relaxed and focused state of being.
